Proposal Description
The proposed Waaihoek Wind Energy Facility is situated approximately 20km east of the town of Utrecht. Three powerline corridor alternatives, connecting the WEF to the Eskom Bloedrivier substation, will be considered. The WEF may host up to 93 wind turbines each generating between 1.5 – 4MW of power, with a total maximum output capacity of 160MW. The development is proposed to take place in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
