Project Name: Fronteer Wind Farm, Eastern Cape Province

Proposed Activities: The development of the Fronteer Wind Farm with a contracted capacity of up to 213MW which will include up to 38 wind turbines. Associated infrastructure includes on-site switching station, collector substation, a 132kV power line
(twin turn dual circuit), access roads (gravel in nature), concrete foundations and hardstands, laydown area, cabling to be laid underground where practical, temporary concrete batching plant, temporary staff accommodation, and operation and maintenance buildings.
Location: Located between Somerset East and Makhanda, ~18km north-west of Makhanda, within the
Makana Local Municipality, Sarah Baartman District Municipality of the Eastern Cape Province, and within the
Cookhouse Renewable Energy Development Zones (REDZ).
