Transkei Quarries - Application for an Integrated Environmental Authorisation for a Mining Permit (Laman Quarry)

Transkei Quarries believe that there is an opportunity to restart intermittent small scale open cast mining operations at the old Laman quarry north of Mthatha town. The old mining permit has now expired therefore Transkei Quarries are applying for a mining permit for 2 years to restart operations. The application area covers 5 Ha of mostly transformed land located 14 km north of Mthatha town and 1 km west of the N2 highway. Affected properties are a portion of unregistered State land in the Magisterial District of Tsolo, Eastern Cape Province.
