Proposed Moa Solar Plant

The proposed Moa Solar Plant project entails the construction of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power plant to feed into the National Grid (Eskom), at the remaining extent of portion 3 of the farm Riet Puts 15-Kimberly Rd. The development footprint is approximately 177 Ha. The site area falls within ward 5, Magareng Local Municipality, Frances Baard District Municipality in the Northern Cape Province, country South Africa. The anticipated construction period for the proposed activities is approximately 10 months, whereas in terms of operation the anticipated energy output is approximately 90.5 million kilowatt hours per year over a 20year period. The energy is capable of supplying 16 500 households. Once the project is complete, it is anticipated that the energy from the plant will be supplied to another stakeholder (ESKOM), which will then undertake its own distribution to its clients.
