Proposal Description
Idlanga Mining is applying for a mining permit to mine coal over 5ha on Farm Rietvlei 150 HU Portion 35 which is situated within the Abaqulusi Magisterial District in KwaZulu-Natal Province.
A very basic form of mining will be employed i.e. open pit mining and the 5ha will be demarcated for mining operations.
The project infrastructure and activities will include the following;
1. Site clearance
2. Removal of topsoil and stockpiling
3. Site establishment – establishment of an access route, mobilization of equipment and preparation of area for mining.
4. Open pit mining
5. Loading zone
6. Hauling and transportation of mined coal
7. Ablution facilities and waste storage area
8. Rehabilitation of site
