proposed addition/expansion to the authorised Sonvanger Photovoltaic Solar Energy Facility near Theunissen, Free State Province

The activities entail the development of an area to expand the authorised Sonvanger Photovoltaic Solar Energy Facility with associated infrastructure (the ”Project”) on Portion 1 of the Farm Karreebooms Vallei 258, Registration Division Theunissen, Free State Province situated within the Masilonyana Local Municipality area of jurisdiction. The town of Theunissen is located approximately 2 km northeast of the proposed development, with the Masilo suburb located directly to the east (refer to the attached locality map).

The Project entails the generation of just under 20MW electrical power through solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and associated infrastructure. The development will therefore expand the authorised Sonvanger Photovoltaic Solar Energy Facility (Ref.14/12/16/3/3/2/672) by just under 20MW. The property on which the facility is to be constructed will be leased by Pele Green Energy (Pty) Ltd from the property owner, for the lifespan of the Project (minimum of 20 years up to a maximum of 25 years).
