Proposed Agricultural Development on the Farm Kameelhoek, near Postmasburg

Sishen Iron Ore Company (SIOC) proposes to undertake agricultural activities and a centre pivot irrigation system on a portion of the Farm Kameelhoek. The project is part of their land management strategy to effectively utilise non-mining land. The pivot and crop production area will cover approximately 25 hectares, with lucerne/ grains being cultivated in the centre pivot irrigation system and horticulture activities to the east and north-west of the pivot system. The Farm Kameelhoek 478 is located to the north-west of the town of Postmasburg in the Northern Cape Province.
