ABO Eland Solar Energy Facility 9 and Associated Infrastructure, near Noupoort, Northern Cape Province.

ABO Eland Solar Energy Facility 9 (Pty) Ltd is proposing the development of a photovoltaic (PV) solar energy facility with a generation capacity of up to 100 MWac. The facility is to be known as the ABO Eland Solar Energy Facility 9 and is proposed as one of four solar photovoltaic (PV) energy facilities to be developed on respective project sites located between ~12 km and ~22 km north of the centre of the town of Noupoort in the Umsobomvu Local Municipality and the Pixley ka Seme District Municipality, Northern Cape Province. These solar facilities form part of a larger proposed renewable energy cluster development which includes the development of both solar energy facilities and wind energy facilities. Infrastructure proposed as part of the facility include PV Panels, on-site facility substation hub, battery energy storage system, laydown area/s, internal and external/main access road/s, operation and maintenance buildings. The up to 233 ha development is proposed on Portion 5 (Hartebeestfontein Quarry) of the Farm Hartebeestfontein No. 145, Portion 7 of the Farm Hartebeestfontein No. 145, The Remainder of Portion 1 (Wolvefontein) of the Farm Hartebeestfontein No. 145, Remainder of the Farm Hartebeestfontein No. 145, Remainder of Portion 4 of the Farm Wild Fontein No. 144, Portion 8 of the Farm Wild Fontein No. 144, Portion 9 of the Farm Wild Fontein No. 144 and Remainder of the Farm Wild Fontein No. 144.
