ABO Ribbok Wind Energy Facility 5 and Associated Infrastructure, near Richmond and Hanover, Northern Cape Province.

ABO Ribbok Wind Energy Facility 5 (Pty) Ltd is proposing the development of a wind energy facility with a generation capacity of up to 300 MWac. The facility is to be known as the ABO Ribbok Wind Energy Facility 5 and is proposed as part of a cluster of four wind energy facilities and eight solar photovoltaic (PV) energy facilities. The proposed facility is to be located ~19 km northwest of the centre of the town of Hanover and ~43 km northeast of the centre of the town of Richmond and in the Emthanjeni and Ubuntu Local Municipalities and the Pixley ka Seme District Municipality, Northern Cape Province. Infrastructure proposed as part of the facility include wind turbines (number and maximum development specifications to be confirmed), on-site facility substation hub, battery energy storage system, temporary and permanent laydown areas, internal and external/main access roads, internal reticulation network, operation and maintenance buildings. The up to 11702 ha development is proposed on Portion 1 of the Farm Schraal and Bitter Vlakte No. 61, Remaining Extent of the Farm Nieuwe Fontein No. 62, Portion 6 of the Farm Nieuwe Fontein No. 62, Remaining Extent of the Farm Hartebeestfontein No. 66, Remaining Extent of the Farm Elandsfontein No. 67, Portion 2 of the Farm Elandsfontein No. 67, Portion 4 of the Farm Elandsfontein No. 67, Portion 1 of the Farm Zaaifontein No. 68, Portion 1 of the Farm Brandnetelsfontein No. 6 and Portion 4 of the Farm Brandnetelsfontein No. 6.
