2023 Export of Samples for Geological Analysis and Dating from Kathu Pan

The export request is for sediment samples derived from the 2023 excavation at Kathu Pan 6 for analysis of site formation processes and dating along with sediment samples from augering across the Pan environment for landscape reconstruction. A small sample of artifacts from Kathu Pan 1 and 6 is also requested for export to allow for non-destructive analysis to understand postdepositional processes, particularly the build up of silica on the surface of artifacts and fauna that is characteristic of these sites.
