On the reverse (verso) side of the canvas is another painting by the artist, similar to the recto with more defined brush stokes in blue. The verso also bears the inscription (in black ink): 'Pour Mon Trés Cher / Ami / Steingrim' (unclear spelling) and the artist's signature, and exhibition labels obscured by the frame.
