Object Description
Round raku-fired red-glazed ceramic vessel. Glaze has spots of green and yellow. Hand-built. Ceramic artist: Laura du Toit (b. 1954). Title of vessel: Sunspots. Du Toit is interested in shapes, textures and colours found in volcanoes, fossils and geological formations. Patterns found in aerial and satellite images of the earth inspire her work as well, hence the title 'Sunspots' for this work.
