19th Century Batavian Padouk bureau bookcase. Top section has a simple moulded gable with plain centre block, 2 framed panel construction doors with inlay stringing and corner carved motif in corners of panels. The canted corner on top of bookcase has floral carved motifs. Top section has 6 interior drawers and compartments. Bottom section has 2 long drawers and 2 short drawers in bureau section with fall-front. Bereau has 10 interior drawers and compartments. Entire piece has a carved stylized "goudron" motif framing the panels. Bereau bookcase is standing onon carved ball-and-claw feet with a shaped carved apron on front and sides.
