    Object Description

    REDUNDANT ASSET An identical locomotive of this class, Class G # 221, is preserved at the Transnet Transport Museum in George and forms part of the locomotive dislay inside the museum. The history of this class is captured in the publications " Locomotives of the South African Railways by Leith Paxton and David Bourne as well as Railways of Southern Africa 150 Years by Jean Dulez, which are kept in the museum for reference purposes. Drawings and other information relating to this class is in safe custody at the Transnet Heritage Library.
