REDUNDANT ASSET - The 19 class consist of several variations - 19 / 19R / 19A / 19AR / 19B / 19 BR /19C and 19D of which the following are preserved 19C # 2439 - Transnet Transport Museum / 19 D # 3323 on Loan to Classic Rail / 19B #1412 -Ceres Railway Company(owned) and 19AR # 696 - Hilton/ Natal Railway museum. A further 5 Class 19D locomotive are on Loan to steam clubs. 2540 -Reefsteamers / 2637 Umgeni steam/ 2649 Classic Rail/ 2650 Friends of the Rail, 2669 Dr Nkosasana Dlamini Zuma Municipality while on another 3 we have received an offer to purchase.The original building plan ( locomotive drawing) are in safe custody at the Transnet Heritage Library where the history of these locomotives are also kept.
