Interim CommentSAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology and Meteorites (APM) Unit requires that an HIA is undertaken by a suitably qualified archaeologist and the report must submitted to the case for commenting, along with the environmental documents complied in support of the prospecting permit application.The proposed prospecting area is located in a grey zone on the SAHRIS palaeo-map, which indicates that the area has no palaeontological significance. SAHRA grants this application an exemption from undertaking any palaeontological studies as per the SAHRIS palaeo-map policy on palaeontological sensitivity zones. SAHRA will comment further once all the required documents are submitted to the case.
