Interim CommentThe SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology, Meteorite Unit notes the dBAR and HIA archaeological component along with the recommendations provided therein. As the proposed prospecting is located in an area of high palaeontological sensitivity, a desktop assessment of the impact to palaeontological resources must be undertaken, a field-based assessment may be required depending on the outcomes. The assessment must be conducted by a qualified palaeontologist.
The report above must comply with section 38(3) of the NHRA and the 2007 Minimum Standards: Archaeological and Palaeontological Components of Impact Assessments and the 2012 Minimum Standards: Palaeontological Component of Heritage Impact Assessments.
