Interim CommentThe SAHRA Archaeology, Palaeontology, and Meteorites (APM) Unit cannot provide an informed comment because the development area is not mapped on the SAHRIS palaeomap and the palaeosensitivity cannot be determine. An assessment of impacts to palaeontological resources has not been carried out and a report of the assessment has not been submitted to SAHRA for comment.The SAHRA requires an assessment of palaeontological resources by a suitably qualified palaeontologist to be undertaken and the subsequent Palaeontological Impact Assessment (PIA) report or letter of exemption, depending on the assessment of the palaeontologist, is submitted to the case for commenting.SAHRA will comment on the case on submission of a PIA report, depending on the complete sensitivity of the development area, and a .kml file that maps the development area using a polygon and not a point.
