Declaration Description

A bronze naval cannon made in Portugal by Antonio Gomes Feyo, bearing the inscribed initials AGF, as well as the Portuguese coat of arms. The touch hole surrounds are decorated and the two lifting handles are dolphin-shaped. The cascabel is also decorated. There are two trunnions for mounting the cannon. The total length of the cannon is 3 103 mm and the greatest circumference near the touch hole is 1 367 mm and the smallest (near the mouth) 788 mm. The diameter of the bore is 128 mm.
The cannon is located at 3 Botha Road, Selborne, East London.
