Designed by Architect Arthur Fyfe, the building is a good example of early Colonial architecture, is the most impressive building in the area and the symbol of municipal growth in East Griqualand. -glassed fanlights above main doorways,fireplaces original: many minor andmajor alterations during refurbishment to house public library. Impressive smaller town hall with collonaded gabled front entrance portico: two wings to either side: tower with original clock. Interior: stained The Old Town Hall Building, together with the portion of land in front of the building, History: Built as a Town Hall and municipal offices and officially opened 1901-01-01: interior modernised for public library and new hall built at rear 1934.
