Statement of Significance

Consists of a small quarry on hillside above Boyes Drive. Steep slopes. Exploited quartzitic sandstone of the Ordovician Peninsula Formation for building stone and minor aggregate from the early 1900s until about 1934. Capstan, holes for "feather-wedging" sandstone blocks and cables of cableway still present.
