Statement of Significance

No 38 Somerset Street is one of the oldest dwellings in Grahamstown, and has been used as the offices of the former Lieutenant Sir Andries Stockenstrom. It retains its historical character and standing as it does at the corner of othertwo important streets in town it's environments impact is enormous.
