The historic powder magazine at Bathurst was erected in 1821 and carried, as regular stock, approximately 273 kilograms of gunpowder, 7 000 ball cartridges abd 60 rifles. It is an excellent example of British military architecture of the early Nineteenth Century and an important link with the history of the Eastern Province.
