Statement of Significance

This property, which came into the possession of Francois Pieter de Necker in 1785, originally formed part of the farm Coornhoop. The Cape Dutch house known as Westoe, which was erected shortly afterwards by De Necker, was restored in 1967. The outbuildings date from the nineteenth century.
