Statement of Significance

This house was erected after the Anglo-Boer War as the official residence for the officer commanding the British garrison at Potchefstroom, and formed part of the military cantonments there. It is an important link with Potchefstroom's military past and serves as an example of the type of accommodation erected for senior officers at that time.
