Statement of Significance

The original part of this impressive cruciform church dates from 1879. The corner-stone was laid on 29 January 1878 and the building was completed on 29 July 1879. The original building was changed to its present cross shape by the addition in 1929 and 1930 of the tower and transept. The completed building was inaugurated on 24 May 1930 by Ds. P. Boshoff.
