Interim Comment

The SAHRA Development Applications Unit (DAU) notes the submission of the Scoping report, however requires an assessment of all types of heritage in terms of section 38(8) and 38(3) of the National Heritage Resources Act, Act 25 of 1999 (NHRA) as required by section 24(4)b(iii) of NEMA. 

The HIA report mentioned in the Scoping Report must be submitted to the case along with an updated addendum, with a recommendation for exemption from further heritage studies by a suitably qualified archaeologist.

Further comments will be issued upon receipt of the draft EIAr documents inclusive of appendices to the case.
