Abel Nkabinde was born in 1958 in Leandra. He was a member of the organisation called Leandra Action Committee (LAC) which was established in 1980.
LAC was led by Chief Ampie Mayise and Nkabinde. The LAC came under attack for protesting against the forced removal of residents to KwaNdebele.
