Descriptions
Site History
DEW009 was identified by Ouzman in 2009 and reported on in HIA studies by Fourie 2010 and DuPiessanie et al. in 2013. The rock art at the site has been recorded (photography and tracing) on numerous field schools by University of the Witwatersrand students and was included in Maseko's 2020 masters dissertation (see Schoeman's De Wittekrans permit report 2023 for a more detailed history). The first excavations at the site were conducted by Alex Schoeman in 2023.

The site is on the farm De Wittekrans. To reach the farm, take the R11 from Hendriena of Ermelo. The site is South of the tar road.
Access details
The farm is owned by the Anvin trust, and access must be arranged with the Schultze family.
