Upgrade of the Stutterheim ANCA 11kV powerline

The proposed project is an upgrade of the 11kV power line that feeds the ANCA factory. The proposed power
line is approximately 8km in length and transverses through Farm 2802 [32º36’17”S; 27º28’28”E], Kubusie
farm/ Farm 80 [32º35’18”E; 27º27’18”S] and Windfall Farm [32º36’23”S; 27º25”56”E] which all fall under the
jurisdiction of the Amahlathi Local Municipality. The proposed site is an Industrial Area within Lower and Upper
Olsen, constituting of ANCA farm, NEWDEN factory, and other farms which habor different livestock rearing.
The site is situated approximately 8 to 10km from the Stutterheim central.
The electrical distribution will be an upgrade as we all as extension from an already existing electrical
distribution within the mentioned farms. The electrical distribution proposed site are situated of gentle slopes.
The area is largely dorminated by short grass and shrubs and a a low density of trees. Evidence of minor
erosion was noted with a few dongas observed, especially around the quarry area and near the existing river
stream.
