The permit application in respect of the above, received on the 15 May 2023 reviewed by the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute (The Institute) on the 12 July 2023, 16 August 2023, 23 August 2023, 26 October 2023, 31 January 2024.
DISCUSSION
Amongst other things, the following was discussed:
- The committee noted that the applicant had submitted revised drawings and in the main chemistry building they were proposing to retain the Marseille tiles.
- It was also noted by the committee that the previous proposal was for removal of the current timber trusses and detailed drawing would be required to specify the implementation of the new laminated timber.
- On the current drawing there were no engineer’s details on how to replace the exposed trusses as the current drawing has not provided enough information.
FURTHER REQUIREMENTS
- The applicant was required to address point number 3 on the previous referral letter.
- The applicant was required to provide drawings with engineer’s detail.
