This letter serves as a confirmation for an extension of permit 3396 for the export of six pigment samples from Blombos Cave for thin-sectioning and analysis at University of Bergen, Norway, and dating at Berkeley Geochronology Center, California, and Oxford University, UK. The consent letter from the accessioning institution is noted. SAHRA and the curating institution must be notified when any leftover material is returned to South Africa.

SAHRA has reviewed the extension motivation and has decided to grant an extension of the permit until 30 April 2025.
