Thyspunt Cultural Landscape Survey

A field survey was conducted on the 22nd and 23rd of April 2024 to determine the extent of the material and the Cultural Landscape of the Thyspunt site. The intention is to populate the SAHRIS record with sites found in the Cultural landscape of Thyspunt, focusing on the nature of the site deposits and the GPS coordinates. Extensive photographs were also taken to capture the Cultural landscape. The areas that were visited during the survey include the coastal strip, the long term holiday house rentals, the fish traps, and the dune fields (the aquifer and seasonal rain areas and deflated sites).
