    Site History

The Rock Paintings are on a boulder shelter facing north. They date to the Later Stone Age more than 3000 years before the present (BP). They are executed in a white medium depicting various animals including, Elephants, a Feline, a Giraffe,  an Antelope, and a possible dog. The figures are "stiff".

Two Rivers Platinum Mine launched a dedicated program under the Environment Unit to protect heritage resources in the Mine Lease Ares. The site is fenced with steel mesh wire. An Integrated Management Plan was prepared and a Chance Finds Protocol. Visit to the paintings is restricted and is by appointment.
