The Parliament Collection:
Shows what is now the Darling Street side of the Parade with the business establishment of "G. Greig, bookseller, stationer & printer." A vendor wearing the traditional toering hat and carrying two shoulder baskets, and a woman carrying a child are in the foreground. The vendor is possibly a slave selling his owner's products. Also in the foreground is the classical pillar that stood on the Parade. The spire of the Dutch Reformed Church can be seen in the background.
