Interim Comment

The SAHRA notes the submitted letter of exemption. However, it is found to be inadequate. A revised letter must be submitted with a rigorous literature review that includes previously completed HIAs in the vicinity to provide motivation for the exemption.

Further comments will be issued upon receipt of the above requested report and a revised DBAR that incorporates the results of the specialist assessment. The applicant is advised to extend the EA process in terms of section 19(1)b of the NEMA EIA regulations in order to address this comment.
