Proposal Description
The proposed mining area is located within Farm Tweelagte 175 JP, in the Magisterial District of Mankwe, North West Province. The site is accessible via existing gravel roads, which connect to the R556 provincial road.
The surrounding area is characterized by open-cast chrome mining activities, with Mabeleleng, Tweelagte, Tlhatlhaganyane and Raborife Villages situated in close proximity to the proposed site. The existing road infrastructure will be utilized to minimise the need for additional access development.
The proposed mining method for the project will be open-cast mining, covering a 5-hectare area. The ore will be extracted through excavation and blasting and will undergo on-site crushing and screening using a dedicated processing plant. A front-end loader will then be used to load the processed ore onto transportation trucks for off-site processing.
