Proposal Description
Impisi Resources (Pty) Ltd established a Chrome Tailings Crushing, screening and washing plant on portion 115 and 33 of the farm Boshoek 103 JQ (Appendix 1 – Locality Map). The site is located on a property that was previously disturbed, and Impisi Resources propose to use as much of this existing infrastructure for its operation as possible. Although some of the Plants infrastructure has been established (Figure 2), Impisi Resources proposes to utilise tailings (i.e. Chrome) sourced from mining operations in the Northwest Province (as close as 5km).
The Tailings will be offloaded and loaded into process feedbin to the wet screen, oversize to VSI Crusher to reduce to minus 1mm.From the VSI Crusher back to wet screen, Wet screen to the Spiral for separation of Chrome concentrate to product pad. The low-grade tailings will be deposited to tailings dam. From tailings dam the bio product its supplied to the Boshoek community and contractor’s company.
The plant has been designed to process approximately an efficiency yielding 70% product and 30% bio product. In addition to the plant infrastructure and storage facilities, the operation will require water (for use during the washing process) which is to be sourced from onsite boreholes. It is proposed that two boreholes will provide water for plant use.
