THE PART 1 AMENDMENT OF THE HIGHVELD SOLAR POWER PLANT AND GRID CONNECTION INFRASRUTURE AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE NEAR WITBANK, MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

The Highveld Solar Power Plant, Grid Connection Corridor and Associated Infrastructure, Environmental Authorisation dated 10 May 2023 (DFFE Reference: 14/12/16/3/3/1/2691), refers. A Part 1 amendment application is being submitted in terms of Regulation 29(a) since will not change the scope of a valid environmental authorisation, nor increase the level or nature of the impact, which impact was initially assessed and considered when application was made for an environmental authorisation and (b) relates to the change of ownership or transfer of rights and obligations The amendments include micro-siting of the facility infrastructure hub, extension of the GCC to reach new facility infrastructure hub, revision of PV panel sections and internal roads, EA split to split the SPP from the GCC and amendments of the Facility and GCC Environmental Management Programmes (EMPrs) to include the optimized facility and GCC layouts.
