Proposal Description
The Middlepunt Solar PV facility, Environmental Authorisation dated 16 April 2024 (DFFE Reference: 14/12/16/3/3/2/2414), refers. A Part 1 amendment application is being submitted in terms of Regulation 29(a) since will not change the scope of a valid environmental authorisation, nor increase the level or nature of the impact, which impact was initially assessed and considered when application was made for an environmental authorisation and (b) relates to the change of ownership or transfer of rights and obligations. The amendments include micro-siting of the facility infrastructure hub; the contact details of the Middlepunt Solar PV facility have changed; correction of project name from Middelpunt to Middlepunt; update of farm names; administrative updates of the EA; removal of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) from the authorised development footprint; revision of the internal and perimeter roads; inclusion of PV panel arrays to replace the previous BESS area and the inclusion of PV panels in the previous location of internal and perimeter roads; revision of the access roads to the PV facility, Amendments to the no-go area for an Eskom servitude in the northern section of the site; amendments to the no-go area for a road wayleave in the southern section of the site and approval of the amended Facility EMPr.
