Citrus Grove Portions 126 and 128

Habitat Link Consulting (Pty) Ltd. has been appointed by Citrus Grove Properties (Pty) Ltd., to apply for an Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the abovementioned project. The proposed agricultural development will include the clearance of approximately 3 ha of vegetation and will include the establishment of a new citrus grove with associated infrastructure including an irrigation system, stormwater retention dam and internal access roads. The development will be situated approximately 12 km west of the town of Patensie, located within the Kouga Local Municipality, Eastern Cape Province

The applicant (Citrus Grove Properties (Pty) Ltd) proposes to clear up to 3 hectares (ha) of potentially indigenous vegetation to establish a citrus grove. The proposed development includes the following aspects:
- Site clearance;
- Establishment of citrus orchards;
- Abstraction from the Gamtoos Irrigation Board (GIB) canal system;
- Construction of water reticulation system for irrigation purposes;
- Stormwater retention dam; and
- Construction of new internal access roads.
