Mhleleni Water Treatment Works

The project entails the construction of a new package water treatment works (WTW), sludge ponds, rising mains, raw and clear water reservoirs, an access road, and abstraction infrastructure at the Umzimvubu River. The new infrastructure is required due to the non-functional and vandalised state of the existing Mhleleni WTW. Water will be drawn from the river, processed through a newly constructed package plant, and stored in reservoirs to service surrounding villages including Mhleleni, Nkumba, Rwantsana, and Lugangatho.
