The permit application in respect of the above, received on 19 May 2025 reviewed by the KwaZulu-Natal Amafa and Research Institute (The Institute) on 28 May 2025 refers.
Please be advised as follows:
Amongst other matters the following was discussed:
- The committee noted that the application was for work on outbuildings, but it was confusing as to which structures were to be demolished.
- Some work appeared to have been carried out without prior approval as buildings can be seen at the rear of the property on Google Satellite images.
Further requirements:
- Previously approved drawings or a Form I application must be submitted if there is any unauthorised work on the site.
- Clarification on the structures to be demolished is required – to be shown in dotted lines on a site plan, and;
- Confirmation if the proposed buildings at the rear had already been constructed is required.
Written responses/requests for reconsideration of the application or consideration of new information must be loaded to the case on Sahris (email [email protected]).
Required additional information or revised drawings must be submitted within six months from the date of this letter or the application will lapse, and a new application will be required.
THIS LETTER DOES NOT CONSTITUTE FORMAL APPROVAL OF THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED TO THE INSTITUTE. UNAUTHORISED WORK CARRIED OUT ON THE ABOVE SITE WILL BE IN CONTRAVENTION OF THE KWAZULU-NATAL AMAFA AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE ACT (5 of 2018).
