Cwabeni Bulk Water Upgrade Project – Project Component: Proposed Umzimkhulu Estuary Weir near Port Shepstone in Ugu District Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal.
The Ugu District Municipality (UDM) (the “Applicant”) are appointed as the Implementing Agent for the proposed development of the Umzimkhulu Estuary Weir near Port Shepstone (the “Project”) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) as part of the holistic Cwabeni Bulk Water Upgrade Project.
The proposed weir is located approximately 9 km upstream from the Umzimkhulu River mouth, within Wards 12, 14, and 34 of the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality (RNLM), in the south of KZN. The proposed weir site lies approximately 7 km to the north-west of Port Shepstone’s central business district (CBD).
