The Proposed Installation of a Bulk Sewer Pipeline on the Haasendal Estate, near Kuils River in the Western Cape

Proposed Bulk Sewer Pipeline Extension on Erf 23324, Portion 64 of Farm Haasendal No. 222, Portion 60 of Farm Haasendal No. 222 and Portion 15 of Farm Haasendal No. 222, Haasendal, Kuils River, Stellenbosch Registration Division, Western Cape.
The Applicant, Combined Developers (Pty) Ltd., proposes the installation of a portion (approximately 2115 m) of the bulk sewer main required for the provision of increased sanitation services capacity for the Kuils River area (‘the pipeline’). The pipeline will traverse the following properties, Erf 23324, Portion 64 of Farm Haasendal No. 222 and Portion 60 of Farm Haasendal No. 222 and Portion 15 of Farm Haasendal No. 222 (collectively referred to as ‘the site’). The surrounding area has seen a marked increase in development, thus necessitating the increase of services to the area.
The proposed activity constitutes the ‘expansion’ of the City of Cape Town’s sewer infrastructure for the area, since the proposed pipeline will connect to existing manholes and hence, sewer infrastructure, on either ends of its length.
