Proposed Electric Truck charging facility and PV arrays located on the Remaining Extent of Portion 11 of the Farm Kop Leegte 1154 GS along the N3 highway

The proposed Electric Truck charging facility and PV arrays located on the Remaining Extent of Portion 11 of the Farm Kop Leegte 1154 GS along the N3 highway. The site will be referred to as the N3 Electrical Highway Kopleegte Truck Site.

The proposed site is located along the N3 between the towns of Van Reenen and Estcourt. The proposed development is located approximately 30km north of the town of Estcourt, within the KwaZulu Natal Province. The site is located on the Remaining Extent of Portion 11 of the Farm Kop Leegte 1154 GS, just off the N3 highway. The entire property size is 99.1095ha of which the proposed site extent covers 53.1286ha. Applying all the development constraints (building lines and environmentally sensitive areas) the total developable area reduces to approximately 32.297ha.
Four areas were originally surveyed and the applicant requests that these are commented upon as a whole.
The project will be divided into a car and truck facility as it progresses. Each sub project will apply for site specific permits. The cleint currently requires a comment on the entire area and the heritage management plan.
