Interim Comment:

The SAHRA Development Applications Unit (DAU) is making the following comments in terms of section 38(8) of the National Heritage Resources Act as contemplated by the EIA process in terms of section 24(4)b(ii) of NEMA:

• The SAHRA DAU acknowledges the receipt of the HIA report and Letter of Recommendation for Exemption of PIA studies.
• Further comments will be issued upon the submission of the following:
• A Final HIA report incorporating the results of public participation in terms of section 38(3)e of the NHRA and section 3.1 of the submitted HIA report (HIA Quagga 432 JU | SAHRIS) and;
• a Basic Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment or a Scoping Report.
