      Two pillars remain which supported a loading jetty for manganese ore exploited from Hout Bay Manganese Mine between 1909 and 1911. Grading by: DOUG COLE

      Statement of Significance

      The eroded pillars of the manganese loading jetty represent part of the infrastructure of the Hout Bay Manganese Mine which is located on the mountain slopes 600 metres northeast of the pillars and is of local geological and historical significance.
