Statement of Significance
Chapman's Peak Drive roadway follows a non-conformity between Ordovician sandstone and mudstone of the Graafwater Formation and Early Cambrian granite of the Cape Peninsula Pluton. A variety of structures including desiccation cracks can be seen in the Graafwater Formation.
