Statement of Significance
Gold hosted in pyrite which occurs in quartz veins along the granite/hornfels contact. Average grade 24.5 g/t; maximum grade 71.6 g/t. shaft 45 metres deep was sunk. Shaft filled and closed in 1951. Locally significant since it is the only gold prospect in the vicinity of Cape Town
